So I have been making shards for quite some time now. But in the last couple of monnths I have started manufacturing them for sale on a wholesale and retail level. They have been very sucessfull and I enjoy making them. The challenge is inventing new mixes and I LOVE a good challenge.
So on to the next challenge...... There is a "bi product" from shards. They are the little flakes that remain in the container after the shards have been packaged. Other suppliers call them confetti and other nice names. I have been killing myself trying to come up with something clever. LOL So, they are like frit flakes... frit shards... ( in my mind shards and frit toghether made shit...LOL) so that wont work. This is proving to be a pian in my butt. So I am wondering if there is some clever person out there that uses shards and this bi product that might like to win some free shards and bi product for naming these loveable bits.
As for the line of shards there are numerous styles available on my Etsy store and they are also available from Affordable Inspirations.
I look forward to hearing all of your ideas and seeing photos of your items created with these products.

Steampunk....
I currently have this fascination with Steampunk... Now to show my age. I remember when it fist came out in the 80's and have loved it ever since. So I have decided it is time to merge an old love with a new one. Lampworking is my newest love. I have never found a media that is so unpredictable yet forgiving. I love the colors and the fire! So yesterdays venture has been long coming in my mind and I am sure there will be all sorts of variations to come.
Charms to fit the Pandora style bracelets. These are a bit different to any I have seen. They are my lampwork beads made with my shards then I have stacked the cogs and gears on top of the bead before it has been attached to the silver bail. So you can see the Steampunk influence.
I have also made some larger sets of these beads that are steampunk in their own right, for me anyway. They all have the metallic look added to them by the silver glass shards. Then there are a variety of surface decorations added to them.
I have also been working on some new designs in my jewelry range and this is what happened last night!
so.... back to the torch and waiting for the Kalypso.
